Johnny Depp almost ruined this movie for me. I'm just not a fan of his "wacky/zany/drunk" acting that he perfected in the Pirates movies. Luckily, he didn't overpower the movie and let Tim Burton do his work. It was a fun movie and nowhere near as "dark" as people warned me about. Had no problems watching it with my son.
