House of the Devil

House of the Devil is another one of these underground, super hyped, horror films. Luckily, HotD really lives up to it! The hype behind it reminds me of Trick-or-Treat although, unlike ToT, I really enjoyed this one. Definitely felt nostalgic for 80s horror with a good pl0t and good emotional intensity. Great ending as well!

Cloverfield

Another freebie on demand. A really good movie that is still entertaining upon repeated viewings.

Star Trek (2009)

Such a great reboot! It definitely holds up to my 3rd viewing.

I still don't like the water tube scene, but it seemed shorter than I remember.

I hope we get a few more of these!

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

This movie didn't do well in the theaters or get any decent reviews, but I thought it was pretty damn funny. Kathryn Hahn is becoming one of my favorite female comedic actors. The rest of cast seemed to overshadow Jeremy Piven.

Don't expect a serious movie, but do expect the same kind of humor you get from Stepbrothers.

Iron Man

FiOS had a free preview of EPIX movie channel, which included all their HD On-Demand titles.

I have yet to purchase IM on Blu, so this is my first time watching it in HD.

Still love this movie!

Inception

In order to avoid anything about this movie, once I heard Chris Nolan wrote and directed, I stopped watching trailers and reading reviews. This is probably one of the "freshest" movies I've ever gone into. That being said, it was simply remarkable. I haven't walked out of a theater with my mind blown away like this since I first watched The Matrix. By simply using other Chris Nolan movies to compare, it had more action than The Dark Knight and more intelligence required than Memento.

It is a definite must watch, and since I watched it without my wife, I'll be watching it again soon, hopefully on IMAX this time!

Couples Retreat

Imagine hanging out with some of your funniest friends and a couple of smoking hot girls and just being bored. That's what Couples Retreat is like. Yea, I laughed a bit, but it just let me feeling like it could've been SO much better. It seemed like Vince Vaughn was neutered and not allowed to be funny. Too bad.

Jerry Maguire

I believe this may be the first time I've watched this since it came out. It still holds up and I really enjoyed watching it again.

Predators

This is my first Predator movie since Predator 2. I've managed to avoid all of the AvP abominations.

I liked the action in the movie and really liked the musical queues from the original. I just felt like something was missing. Of course the ending left a lot to be desired.

Star Wars Episode III

By far, my favorite of the first 3. I mean, a huge epic lightsaber fight ON LAVA!!! How could you not like this movie?!

[5/5]

Star Wars Episode II

Continuing our July 4th rewatch.

Star Wars Episode I

Watching the Clone Wars tv show with my son, my wife and I decided to watch the first 3 movies over the 4th weekend.

The demographic they were trying to pick up with all the Jar Jar crap definitely failed in comparison to what they're doing now with the Clone Wars.

The Last Airbender

I'm not so sure where all the hatred comes from against this movie. I've never seen any of the comics so I have no reference point to base it on. I didn't see it in 3D so that didn't ruin it for me. It was a solid film and my son really enjoyed it. I don't see myself watching it again, or even watching the other "books" if they even get made though.

The Dead Zone

When I first started this movie, I thought, "wait, Christopher Walken was young?!?" and not to mention a good serious actor!

Stephen King sure knows how to write a mind F doesn't he?

[4/5]

Casualties of War

Full Metal Jacket is a tough act to follow up, but CoW does a great job. Another Vietnam movie looking into the messed up mind of a soldier.

Full Metal Jacket

I watched this movie multiple times growing up, but haven't watched it in over 10 years.

I think I enjoyed it now more than I ever did.

[5/5]

Zombieland

My first watching after seeing it in the theater last year was a great one! Zombieland didn't lose anything upon the rewatch!

Education of Charlie Banks

I wish Jesse Einsenberg would narrate my life. That would be great!

[3/5]

Tokyo Gore Police

Maybe it had a little to do with the fact that I spent the entire night throwing up, but I didn't enjoy this movie even in the slightest. It is definitely a "drunk/crowd" style movie that would be best enjoyed.

I definitely picked the wrong time to watch this one.
